Service A

The frequency with which you will need Service A varies based on where you drive, how you handle the vehicle, and other factors. Typically, a Mercedes made after 2009 will need this service after its first year or 10,000 miles on the road, and then again after every 2 years or 20,000 miles. Service A involves:

  • Replacing the vehicle’s oil filter and Mercedes-Benz motor oil
  • Checking all fluid levels and correcting them as recommended by the factory
  • Checking and correcting tire pressure
  • Inspecting the brakes for component problems
  • Resetting maintenance counter for the next Service A visit.

In performing Service A, Mercedes-Benz is careful to take into account your vehicle’s specific features. We identify its model and production year, obtain the relevant service sheet, and service it accordingly.

Service B

The need for Service B, like that for Service A, varies with the vehicle’s specifics. Most Mercedes models manufactured after 2009 will need it after the first year or 20,000 miles, and then every 2 years or 20,000 miles after that. Service B involves:

  • Replacing the oil filter and Mercedes-Benzes motor oil
  • Inspecting and correcting tire pressure
  • Checking fluid levels and modifying them according to the manufacturer’s instructions
  • Replacing the cabin dust/combination filter
  • Inspecting the brakes for component problems
  • Exchanging brake fluid
  • Resetting maintenance counter for the following Service B visit

Note: We Update Mercedes A & B Services On The Official Mercedes Database.

Further Features

The Flexible Service System works somewhat differently for Mercedes models that run on diesel. Though the average intervals for Service B are the same, diesel vehicles require additional services, including:

  • Replenishing your supply of AdBlue fluid
  • Replacing your fuel filter as specified by the model’s maintenance manual
  • Performing all other repairs specific to your vehicle’s model and year

Certain Mercedes vehicles, notably those made in 2015, those with V12 engines, and those produced by AMG, have unique service needs. Make sure to inform your service advisor if you have such a vehicle and follow their instructions for maintaining it.

Questions we get asked

What is the difference between an Oil Service and a Full Service?

An Oil Service is the lighter option, covering the engine oil and oil filter, fluid levels and a safety check, and it starts from £125 + VAT. A Full Service goes further, following the manufacturer schedule for your car and taking in the additional filters, fluids and inspection items due at that interval. It starts from £225 + VAT.

Will servicing at an independent garage affect my manufacturer warranty?

No. We service to the manufacturer schedule using the correct parts and oils, which is what keeps a manufacturer warranty intact. We also update the digital service history on official manufacturer systems for a long list of makes, including BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, smart, Jaguar, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and the VW Group brands.

How does the free MOT work?

The MOT normally costs £45. If you have a Full Service with us at the same visit, the MOT is free. Quote the code freeMOT when you get in touch so we put it on the job from the start. It applies to Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs, and we are DVSA approved to carry them out here in our own MOT bay.

Can you collect and return my car?

Free collection and delivery is available for eligible servicing customers within the collection area, subject to location and workshop capacity. The garage must confirm the address, vehicle and required work in advance. Tell us your address and a rough time when you get in touch, and we will collect the car, carry out the work and bring it back to you.

How long does a service take?

Most services are a same-day job if the car is with us in the morning. An Oil Service is quicker than a Full Service, and anything we find along the way may add time, though we will always speak to you before carrying out extra work. If you need the car back by a set time, say so and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic.

Do you update the digital service record?

Yes, on official manufacturer systems for Land Rover, Jaguar, MINI, BMW, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, smart, Skoda, Volkswagen, SEAT, Audi and other VW Group brands. The record sits where a main dealer or a future buyer expects to find it, rather than only on a stamp in a paper folder.
