New tyre labelling rules
Wet grip
According to the new rules, the wet grip rating of a tyre will range from A to E. Models with an 'A' rating will provide brilliant short-braking performance on wet roads, while those with an 'E' rating will have poor short-braking performance.
Fuel efficiency
Similarly, fuel efficiency rating will also range from A to E. Tyres with an ‘A’ rating will reduce the rolling resistance and offer brilliant mileage. On the other hand, models with an ‘E’ rating will provide poor fuel economy.
Noise emission
Noise emission rating will now have ABC grades. Tyres with an ‘A’ grade will have minimum external noise emission, while those with a ‘B’ grade will emit high external noise. However, the tyres with a ‘C’ grade are banned.
